Taree ABA Branch Shoot (Manning District Bowhunters)

20th and 21st of July.

Several club members went down to Taree to experience a different sort of shooting. ABA shoot coloured vinyl posters of animals glued to corflute, mounted in front of wool bales. Distances range from 7 m to 48.5 m depending on which category of animal.

95 shooters signed on (even with rain on Friday and Saturday morning). With one arrow rounds, three arrow rounds and a two arrow (both score) round – there was plenty of variety.

Alex Elvin shot a perfect 20 from 20 “A” scores on one range, and the rest of us, as 3-D shooters, did quite well.

A good campfire, singalong and food and drinks on Saturday night was well attended and enjoyed.

Sunday was sunshine and good challenging Ranges, especially at the 48 m. Overall, all of us had fun, shot fairly well and enjoyed some good company.

Taree (Manning district Bow hunters) – good club – good people – good shoot.
