First Night Shoot 2014

We held our first of 3 night shoots on a perfect coolish evening. It was great to see 27 shooters sign on (well up on last year) thanks to the mountain view archers from Wingham for coming along and also Karl and Glennys from Taree ABA – We appreciate the effort to travel midweek after work to attend.
10 rounds of three arrows per round at 20 metres as per 3DAAA Indoor shoot rules was enjoyed by everyone. The 3 disc targets were first, followed (at halftime) by the heart/lung targets later. Shooters began finding the accuracy by round two – it’s amazing how different your bow shoots at night (or is it the archers).
Tea and coffee was consumed in copious amounts with some interesting chatter between rounds. Chief scorer Grant was kept busy with some fine shooting.
The “Smiley” award (wayward shooting) was passed from father to son (Peter to Jayden) on the night with Jayden hitting four smileys! Shame! All very good fun!!!
At the end of the evening the top four were Owen, Gary, Nick, Rod. All scores accumulate over the three rounds – there are huge prizes on offer. It was good to see many new young archers having a go – Keep it up guys. We will get a campfire going for the next one 922nd July) – Keep us nice and warm.
The Ladies (Robyn – Myra + Glennys) all shot well with Glennys outshooting hubby, Karl, by 20 odd points (what’s going on Karl). See you at the next night shoot – 22nd July 6pm sharp.
