Archery Instruction Course

Over the weekend of Feb 24 and 25, the club was very happy to welcome international judge, coach, competitor, and Operations Manager of Archery Australia, Mr Jim Larven.

Jim conducted a Community Archers Instructor Course for club members which was very well presented and packed with great, helpful content.  Jim had the assistance of his brother Mike for the course, and over 50 years’ experience in archery makes for lots of excellent advice and interesting stories!  There was something in the course material for everyone – newer members and club veterans alike found the course to be very informative and enjoyed the relaxed nature of its delivery.  The 2-day course culminated in a “practical technique session” at the club’s practice range on Sunday afternoon.

Jim has both conducted and been involved in many published engineering studies detailing the technical side of archery, and his expertise is well recognised internationally.  The club was very pleased with the good attendance and the overall value of the course and wish thank Jim, Mike, and Archery Australia for this fantastic opportunity.
