1st Night Shoot of 2017 Results

Our long awaited first night shoot for the year finally arrived on the back of a week’s rain!  With fingers crossed, we set up the range, fixed up the genny and turned the lights on!  Our new LED Light bulbs work fantastically and the range looked excellent under lights.

17 keen archer signed up and were looking forward to their archery under what some described as difficult conditions.

The first five rounds with the three spot targets saw some great shooting and the weather clearing.  People warmed by the “fire pit” (Thanks Peter) which worked very well.  We had six lanes operating and our chief scorer, Grant, was in an uncharacteristic “good mood”!

The lucky door prize was won by Mike – who was heard shout “This is the first thing I’ve ever won!” – Well done.  Everyone had a feed (many thanks to our cook, Geoff), a hot coffee, and then continued with the new targets for the next five rounds.

Two more members secured rare membership to the “14 club” (three consecutive arrows in 50c coin sized group) – Welcome Garry and Merv!

Big Brett was heard to say “I aim left and my arrows go right – then I aim right and my arrows go left! What the…?”

The novelty shot was won by Adrian; who was attending his first ever night shoot and seemed to be enjoying it.

The 3D challenge was won by Vicki (Wingham) with a great 30 meter shot on the standing deer.

The weather held off and many stayed after the shoot for a quiet “hot chocolate” and a talk.

This three-night series, with its great prizes, is now considered a “must do” and the next is on Saturday 15 July.  See you there!
